thursday

Notice:
Monday is Black and Orange day
(Halloween)
If your looking for a good site on the web for your children.  Here is a great resource.  Thanks Mr. K for providing this great book reading site.

One of our two gyms on Thursday... A good run around keeps the mind as well as the body sharp.

A note from the GET ACTIVE WEBSITE
"Physical activity is an essential component of a healthy lifestyle. In combination with healthy eating, it can help prevent a range of chronic diseases, including heart disease, cancer, and stroke, which are the three leading causes of death. Physical activity helps control weight, builds lean muscle, reduces fat, promotes strong bone, muscle and joint development, and decreases the risk of obesity. Children need 60 minutes of play with moderate to vigorous activity every day to grow up to a healthy weight."

Art for the fundraiser continues to amaze me.

Sometimes Math hurts the brain.  A hundred subtraction questions.

As 'R' one of the grade 3's told me, "I'm not a psychologist.  Let Math solve it's own problems.
However, some students were so inspired to do the math they took clipboards and the math outside to work on at recess

Our library, with it's great books, with much thanks to the parent advisory council to keep it updated and fresh, is a great place for children to judge books by their covers.

Show and Smell (tell) is a favourite activity in the class. Sometimes it is an excuse to bring toys to school and sometimes it reveals gems... all good

Our music teacher Mrs. Awalt rocks the school.  We are so fortunate to have such a creative and talented teacher.

Serving the school is one of the ways students give back to the school.

The students are mastering many important computer skills as we focus on Word processing and Power point

Math blocks can inspire as well as teach.  Math and art use many of the same parts of the brain.
"Mathematics and art have a long historical relationship. Mathematics and art are related in a variety of ways. Mathematics has itself been described as an art motivated by beauty. Mathematics can be discerned in arts such as music, dance, painting, architecture, sculpture, and textiles. "

Need proof? Look at the creative minds of our students
