to, too, and two
The written use of to, too and two can be a little tricky but basically
two contains tw which means 2  (twelve 10 + 2), (twins two people) (twig where a branch splits into two) (between in the middle of two things)
too means extra / more than, or also or as well or very
to is a preposition for  place, time until
The students in their ME had to write 6 sentences two for each of : to too and two

This was followed by library

After recess we began working on problem solving in math.  The students were broken into 6 groups.  Each group had two girls and a boy.  The problems involve multiple steps and need them to understand concepts in time, distance, measurement etc as well as knowing when to add, subtract, multiply, and divide. or do a combination of each.

For example one question was Rag, Tag, and Bobtail ate carrots.
*Rag eats 2 carrots a day
*Tag eats 1 more than Rag each day
*Bobtail eats twice as many as Rag does each day
For how many days cal all the rabbits be fed from a crate of 6 dozen carrots?
Show all your work.
(they are allowed to use calculators)

These problems are off old FSA tests.  Which is a test that all grade 4 students, grade 7 students and grade 10 students in BC have to do.   Our provincial FSA tests will be given the end of February or early March.  I think it is good practice for the grade 3's even if they have to wait until next year for their FSA tests.  They worked in groups then the whole class presented how they would solve the questions and what their answers were.  We worked on this from 10:40 until music at 11:30

In  Music the students learned about the different types of musical words for tempo.   They move, they clap, they dance and they learn in a totally fun way about very hard musical concepts.  We are very fortunate to have such a great music teacher.

After lunch the students the students worked on basic basketball skills as we are entering into Basketball inter-school games times.

After P.E. the students had 15 minutes of silent reading followed by Science. In Science we are beginning a unit on Energy. We will look at how Most  of the energy we use on Earth comes largely from the Sun (except for from nuclear energy). The Sun’s energy warms the planet’s surface, powering titanic transfers of heat and pressure in weather patterns and ocean currents. The resulting air currents drive wind turbines. Solar energy also evaporates water that falls as rain and builds up behind dams, where its motion is used to generate electricity via hydropower.  Coal, gas and oil were originally plants and animals that have died and been compressed under the earth many years ago.

Friday test:
1) Spelling
2) Draw or write  how coal, gas and oil created by the sun. (Coal, gas and oil were originally plants 3) and animals that have died and been compressed under the earth many years ago. )
