Thursday November 3

Notice:

Test Tomorrow .... Spelling, Name all the continents: Name the city we live in: Name the province we live in: Name the Country we live in and Name the continent we live in.

We began the day with a rousing game of Slimers Island with Mrs. Cannon's class.  We ran, yelled, dodged, slid, dived, ran and yelled some more.

After gym we continued our social studies.  Me, my street, my city, my province, my country, my continent and our earth.

After recess the students had library where Mr. K showed them resources in the library and they selected up to 3 books for the week.

After library we continued working on the Socials until the students went to music where they learned songs and played musical tick-tack-toe.

After lunch the students did silent reading, a favourite thing to do on library day, so much so that they asked for a 10 minute extension to continue reading.  This was followed by another favourite thing, Show and Tell.

Fact: Over 16 million animals served in the First World War. They were used for transport, communication and companionship.

Students had to do a report on an animal that was used in World War 1.  The information had to be told from the perspective of the animal.  Students worked in pairs.  The students were given a picture and one sentence about the animal. They then had to make up information about the animal.  They could simple care and attention or fantastic like how their animal won a medal or perhaps even changed the course of the war.

See you all tomorrow.
